Ford Repair: Struts, resevoir, allexperts

Question
I have a broken strut end bushing on 96 windstar.
Is this a do yourself? Is it probable that need new struts also?  150K miles.  Also has had a loud whine in power steering from day one.  Any suggestions?  fluid has been changed and checked frequently.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Roger,
You will need new struts. Struts on a Windstar are very hard to change and you would need special equipment and tools. Let your mechanic do this one!
Replace the power steering resevoir if it is the remote type. You may also need to replace the pump. Go to your parts house and get some LUCAS POWER STEERING Treatment. This stuff works on most noisey power steering systems. GOOD LUCK.
