Ford Repair: Starter shutdown., solinoid, starter relay

Question
I have a 1991 Ford Explorer, just the other day, when I turned off the engine, I noticed somehow a soft vibrating sound. After 5 minutes, it was still there. The only way it would stop is when I disconnected the battery cable. As soon as I reconnected it, the same sound returned. I checked the starter relay and it had power when I turned on the key, which shouldn't since I did not start the car yet. Someone suggested I change the solinoid and I did, but the same thing still occurs. any suggestions???Diagnosis? Solutions?

Answer
I'm sorry to say, this is not a common concern for Explorers.  Diagnosing this would require hands-on testing.  I wouldn't want to guess as to what might be wrong, it could cost you more time and money.  I would recommend taking the vehicle to a Ford Dealer for service.  Dealer mechanics work on these vehicles daily, and know them inside and out.

I hope this helps,
Dave
