Ford Repair: Engine Modifications, double pumper, comp cams

Question
I have an 82 mustang with the 5.0 and a four speed transmission.  The engine is mostly stock except for an Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and a Holley 600 cfm. double pumper which I just intstalled recently.  I am looking to try and push the horsepower to around 200 or better but I am limited to sticking with the factory heads. (financially)  Is there a good camshaft out there that I can use without having to change out the whole valvetrain?  I'm not real sure where I stand in the horsepower department right now with just the intake and carb.  I know that it is rated at about 160 with the factory setup.  Also, should I change my timing now that I am running a bigger intake and carb? If so what should it be at?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Mike-

A cam won't do much without heads, but it will help a little.  If you want to avoid refreshing the valvetrain, I would go with a mild cam from Comp Cams' Dual Energy or Magnum line.  I'm a big fan of their Xtreme Energy line, but they use more aggressive opening paterns making it a good idea to freshen up the valvetrain.  As for the timing, you can change it, but you don't have to.  I wouldn't advance it to any farther than 14 degrees initial timing.  That would pretty much marry you to 93 octane gas though, so that's something else to consider.  Hope this helps.
