Ford Repair: WINDSTAR, torque converter, 2000 ford windstar

Question
HI .I HAVE A 2000 FORD WINDSTAR. THE PROPBLEM IS WHEN GOING DOWN HIGHWAY EVERY NOW AND THEN IT FEEL LIKE YOU GO OVER SPEED BREAKS .OR THOSE LITTLE BUMPS JUST BEFOERE YOU GET TO A STOP SIGN. MY QUESTION IS DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS. DEALER SAID ITS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM .THEY HAVE TRIED TO FIX THE TRANS. AND HAVE EVEN CLAIM THEY REBUILT THE TRANS. AND NOW ITS BACK IN THE SHOP STILL DOING THE SAME THING.ANY IN FO WOULD BE APRECIATED. DANNY

Answer
It sounds like the Clutches are slipping inside of the Transmission's Torque Converter.  Most of the time you can repair this problem by having a "Power Flush" done to the Transmission.  This procedure changes all of the fluid in the Transmission and Torque Converter. If this doesn't fix it, the Torque Converter will need to be replaced.

I hope this helps,
Dave
