Ford Repair: the battery always dies, ford f 250, altenator

my battery die's after a few days and i put a new atenator in thinking that was the problem. but there is no reading of the altenator when the truck is running. cleaned up contacts and still nothing. the truck is a 82 ford f-250 pick up.why is not charging i changed batteries. its showing o% on the altenator tester.

Probably wiring to the alternator, most likely would be the "I" circuit which allows the alternator to turn on the charging warning lamp and also provides the alternator input on state of charge.  If the truck has a separate voltage regulator, this could also be a concern.
