Ford Repair: Blower resistor??, ford explorer eddie bauer, blower motor resistor

Question
Dave,

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer (Eddie Bauer) and the A/C blower only works in the high position. I have been told that the blower resitor is bad and is easy to fix. Do you agree and if so is the resistor located inside of the blower or an external part??

Thanks
Tom

Answer
Yes, I would guess that the blower motor resistor is bad.  The blower motor resistor is used with the blower motor switch to obtain the different fan speeds. It is easy to change. The resistor is located on the A/C evaporator housing. To remove the resistor, disconnect the wire connector from the resistor and remove two mounting screws.

I hope this helps,
Dave
