Ford Repair: heater, heater control valve, accident repairs

Question
When I try to turn o the heater in my ford 150, 2003, it just bows out cold air.  Was in a major car accident, thr front end was pushed in and the had to replace the frame about  15,000 worth of damages. Also the miroor will no adjust to go up, they will go to the side nd down but not up

Answer
Check that the Heater Core is not clogged and is getting hot. If it is not clogged, there is a Temperature Blend Door and an Electronic Actuator in the Plenum behind the dash, it directs the air from the Blower Motor through the Heater Core.  The Blend Door and/or Actuator may be broken, the Actuator may not be getting power from the Control Unit, or the Heater Control Valve that controls the coolant flow through the Heater Core may be malfunctioning.  I would take the vehicle back to the Dealer where the accident repairs were done, encase it is related.

Both mirrors share a switch, so the mirror is probably bad if the other is working properly.

I hope this helps,
