Ford Repair: Door handle, door latch, marker lamp

Question
Hi,
I have Ford Explore 1997.
The back door of driver side won't open from inside. It seems that the inside door handle did not catch. And, I also try to figure out how to take door apart.
Thank you in advance!

Answer
I would start by lubing the door latch with a good penetrating oil (not WD40).  Lube it a lot and several times, while opening and closing the door between lubing.  If the latch is stuck, the should free it up.  If this doesn't work, you will have to remove the door trim panel by removing the screws and lifting up on the panel.  I believe the screws are: under the marker lamp lens, under the window/lock switch bezel, and under the interior door handle bezel. Inspect the lock handles and rods.  A lock rod clip may be broken or a rod may be bent.  Otherwise the door latch will have to be replaced.

I hope this helps,
Dave
