Question -
I'm trying to locate my (IAT) sensor on my 1993 Ford Explorer. Is it in combination with my Mass Air Flow sensor.
This is the 4.0 w/pushrods TYPE engine.
I've had a Ford Mechanic take a quick look at my engine and he could not tell me were it was located. IS there a good place to go on the web that could give me the information I need?
Now the reasosn is to put a performance module on my explorer.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Mr. Wellman,

Your IAT sensor is either on or located next to your MAF sensor. For more info, you can always go to a reputable auto parts store such as Auto Zone, Napa or Advanced Auto and pick up a Haynes repair manual, specific to the make, model and year of your vehicle, which is always a helpful reference for vehicle work and repair. Hope that this helps and Good luck.

Answer
Bob,

Sorry to hear that you are having a helluva time finding the info you need. From your original question, it sounded like you knew where the MAF sensor was. I checked the Haynes manual and in chapter 6, pg 6-3 there is a diagram showing where both the IAT and MAF sensors are located. If you lift up the hood and look in the engine compartment on the passenger side toward the passenger headlight you should see a cyclindical shaped obect. It is your MAF and on or next to it should be the IAT sensor. Hope that this helps you more and if you need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
