Toyota Repair: toyota 2006 camry standard, factory assembly line, toyota 2006 camry

Question
took delivery of car 06 camry standard..jan 29, 2006...checked oil after about 175 miles on it....was overfilled by 9 ounces..took excess out..per owners manual do not overfill can cause engine damage...predelivery should have caught it....does the factory/assembly line normally add extra oil in a new engine, since engine is breaking in?

did it cause any engine Damage?

2nd question on oil--06 camry owners manual states in several pages use 5/30 oil...

my oil cap says use 5/20 or 0/20 oil?

relative has 05 camry his oil cap says use 5/30..
do i have the wrong oil cap?...is the owners manual wrong? can you clear up confusion?

Answer
were does it read on the stick?
There seem to be 2 different trains of thought. Some say right in the middle is ok , some say should be at the full mark.
If you put a quart or more over you can run into problems. The piston shirt can "cup" in the oil and foam it up, then lead to oil delivery problems. It can be drawn thru places it shouldnt go.
I doubt 9 ounces did anything at all.
Yes PDI should have checked the oil level.

Using 20 or 30 wont matter that much either. I would go with the owners manual.
The important thing is NEVER let the oil go past 5k miles.
I use the cheapest oil I can buy and change every 3K miles. Never had any oil issues. Its the dirt in the oil and the heat that breaks it down.
