Ford Repair: plugs keep fouling out, pvc valve, o2 sensor


Question
I have a 92 E-150 full size van with a 302 in it and I have been having problems with it fouling out plugs so bad that the van wont even start I just put in a new o2 sensor and 8 new autolite 26 plugs and drove it 4 miles and pulled a plug and it is coated black with carbon I need to see about getting this problem fixed as I leave for mississippi the 30th and dont want the wife to get stranded with the babies in the van any help or suggestions will be greatley appreciated

Plugs coated black with carbon indicate that the air-fuel mix is too rich. You will need to take your vehicle to a garage as the fuel-air mix is controlled by the computer. You should also check your PVC valve. If it is bad, it will also cause the problem you are describing. Hope that this helps and good luck.
