Ford Repair: Comparability..., sway bars, sway bar

Question
Hi Jordan,
I have an 82 Mustang GT, 4-speed and mostly stock except an Edelbrock 750 CFM carb and intake to match. My question is how can I get this thing to handle like my brother's 88GT which is like a magnet to the road or are they just too different to compare? Also why does my car buck forward and backward evertime I shift and when going around corners, feeling like it's going to roll over? I joke about it feeling like a boat on water, but honestly, it really feels like that. Any ideas? Thank you.

Answer
your suspension is probably shot if certain parts havent been replaced since it was new.  A front suspension rebuild kit would help out a lot.  It basicly is a collection of all the rubber brushings that go on the moving front end parts.  When the cars get old, those rot out and make for a loose feeling car.  Your steering shaft may be worn out and loose.  Also, if you realy want the car to handle well i suggest installing a 88 and later sway bar and a set of lowering springs with new shocks.  The 88 and later sway bars were thicker and made the mustangs take turns much better. but in my opinion, who realy cares about handleing, if you want to road race i suggest buying a subaru.
