Ford Repair: Muffler, glasspack muffler, little holes

Question
Hi Steve,
I have a Ford Mustang 2003 V6 and I change the original muffler for a Magnaflow...looking for some sound, but the muffler increase the performance but the sound is not what I was especting...I would like a little more sound...
The question is what happend if I drill some little holes (three or four) between the engine and the muffler (1/8")?
Thanks,John

Answer
John-

Oh please don't drill holes.  That'll just make it sound horrible.  If you don't live in an emissions-controlled area, you can always ditch your catalytic converter.  Some people keep them on and drill out the insides or even replace them with a glasspack muffler (my personal favorite since it acts as a resonator and makes the muffler sound better).  If you are tested for emissions, you're pretty much limited to finding another muffler.  If that's the route you go, I'd suggest Dynomax Super Turbos or MAC Flowpaths.  Hope this helps.
