Ford Repair: 1967 fastback rear suspension, kyb shocks, rear leaf springs

Question

My father and I were rebuilding a 67 fastback, and he just passed away.  So now I am trying to put it back together (resto-mod). The front end has 1 inch lowered complete rebuild of the suspension and KYB shocks, bigger sway bar.
I have removed the rear leaf springs (and shocks).  I would like to put 16 or 17 in wheels on when I am finished.

Should I use the stock springs ( new shackle kit and checked for wear) or get a 5 leaf 1" lowered perfromance spring set? (how will it ride?)  Is it best to wait until the engine and interior are all back in with stock springs and see what the wheel clearance looks like?

thanks for any advice.

Answer
SCOTT

if you have the money i would replace the springs.the performance spring set will make the car ride a little rough, but that is a personal thing.i would put everthing back together and see what kind of clearence i had.sorry about the loss of your dad, hang in there.if you need any help let me know.
