Ford Repair: Fuel tank, lacquer thinner, mach one

I have a 73 Mach One that has been sitting for 15 years and the fuel in the tank smells like lacquer thinner. Is there any way to clean out the tank? Thanks for any help you can give

You will first have to drop the tank. the you need to go to a reputable auto parts store, such as Napa or Auto Zone, or go to Mustangs Unlimited @ www.mustangsunlimited.com and purchase fuel tank cleaner. I would also recommend cleaning the carbuerator in case there was any fuel left in there. Hope that this helps. Good luck.
