Ford Repair: Transmission, ford club wagon, mechanic work

Question
I ahve a 95 ford club wagon my transmission started chattering in reverse only when it warmed up.Then a week later drive started sliping. So I changed the filter,It had some black particals in it not much,so I park it,two weeks later started it and reverse works fine but drive still slips. If you hold brake and gas to about 1700-2000rpm. you fill it hit.Someone says it is an E4od? What does it sound like to you.I do mechanic work just not transmission?

Answer
the transmission is starting to fail, and will probably only get worse as time goes on.  Will eventually have to be replaced.  I suggest keeping the fluid topped off and keeping the fluid fresh and the filter fresh.  Try a transmission additive.  Your valve body is not opening and closing at the right times causing it to slip and run shitty.  Some additives say that they help those problems.  Take it to a transmission shop and see if they can fix it, but they will probably only do a compleat rebuild.
