Ford Repair: Front Pads on an Explorer, hi chris, new ford

Question
Hi, I need to replace my brake pads on my 97 Explorer, V6 SOHC.  I have done this on another car previous but wanted to see if there are any hints you can give me or things to watch out for.  I do all my work on my motorcycle and some on my cars so i am not afraid of tools...  Is this something i should do or should i take to get it done by a pro?  Thanks,
Chris

Answer
Hi Chris,
Nothing special. If you didn't have any vibration braking you can just push the pistons back and install new FORD pads. If you had a vibration braking, you need to remove the rotors and have them machined. Make sure you use FORD pads as after market pads don't work as well and are very noisey!
