Ford Repair: 93 Taurus engine probs, fuel pressure regulator, ford taurus

Question
Have a 93 Ford Taurus with 140k miles on it. Been maintained all its life and ran great until recently.
Problem started during acceleration it would hesitate in a speedup/slowdown type manner and progressed to the same even when keeping speed constant (not idling however). It got worse over a couple days where it died on me a few times, then it got real bad the next day dying anytime I put it in gear and engine running rough/shaky. Now it won't even start at all. It also used a HUGE amount of gas on the last day I could drive it... like 3/4 a tank over 60 miles. Fuel pump was replaced about a year ago, fyi. Was looking for fuel filter but didn't see it from hood. HELP! LOL Thanks in advance for any input you have and for volunteering!

Answer
RICK

i would start with the fuel filter.the filter is located on right frame rail near the gas tank.after you change this and you still have problems, you need to take the car to a garage and have it put on a scan tool.the problems could be many, vaccum leak, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, etc. hope this helps.
