Ford Repair: Ford Explorer 96, frozen door locks, ford explorer

Question
the steering wheel has jammed and can not get the car started (happened overnight for no apparent reason).

Had new key cut.... no help!

Quite bizzare... then again, nothing surprises me anymore on the Explorer.

PLEASE HELP!

Answer
My son had the same problem on his Ford Explorer, so we did this.
We purchased a small can of lock freeze at your local parts store and sprayed this into the area where the ignition key inserts. Then we applied the key, jigged it for a while and it finally turned. You can give this a try, and see if it will work for you. The stuff Im refering to is used for frozen door locks, like say you wash your vehicle and the door locks are frozen from sitting overnight. Then again, Ford made a mistake by making Explorers, doesnt matter which year the vehicle was made they always seem to have a problem. I get more questions about these vehicles then anything else. Fords Better idea I quess. Thanks..
