Ford Repair: distributor vacuum vs mechanical, vacuum distributor, fastback mustang

Question
I am putting together a 347 stoker for a 65 fastback mustang I plan on using for weekend driving and some racing use I want to use a full msd setup and am uncertain whether to use a mechanical-vacuum distributor for this aplication any advice would be great.

Answer
Bob-

I'm always a fan of vacuum advance distributors.  They can actually reference engine operation via the amount or lack of vacuum and adjust accordingly.  Mechanical distributors can't do this...only rely on what it "thinks" the engine is doing at a given rpm.  But that's my own opinion.  I've only used 1 mechanical distributor in any of my cars and I ditched it after about 6 months.  Hope this helps.
