Honda Repair: 91 Prelude SI fuel pump problem, fuel pressure gauge, fuel pump

Question
Intermittently I will go to start the car and it will turn over but not start. If i let it sit and try again later most times it will start. One of the times this happened I sprayed it with ether and it ran a short while so I know its a fuel delivery issue. The last time this happened I pulled out the fuse for the fuel pump (found nothing blown or loose), put it back in then it immediately started. Is there some kind of relay of should i replace the fuel pump?

Answer
You can try replacing the relay. An easy way to check if it is bad is just to switch it with another relay of the same type.
You can get a fuel pressure gauge and see if the fuel pressure is low when it won't start.

If it were my car I would just replace the relay and see if that fixed it. To be sure though you would have to check back at the fuel pump wiring harness to see if it is getting power when it is supposed to.
