Honda Repair: Honda Accord 1992 ATC unit problem, transmission control unit, honda accord

Question
For a couple of months I had to manually shift my 92 Accord. It felt like it was stuck in 2nd gear, and the D4 light was on no matter what gear I had it in. A friend told me to try replacing the Automatic Transmission Control unit underneath the floor board. I did, and it worked for about a month. It started back at it's old ways. I took it out, and put it back in. It worked for a day after that, then stuck back to 2nd. Every time it stops now, I can take it out, put it back in, and it will be fine from a few hours to a day but the problem remains. What do you think the issue may be? I was thinking it could be ground problem but I'm not sure what to do if that's even the issue. Loose wiring? Please help.

Answer
It sounds like it is related to the wiring or connection. I would try this:

When its doing its thing try to pull up or down on the wiring right by the connector. Wiggle different parts of it. When you wiggle the part that is causing the problem then it should work. This is most likely a wiring problem or a problem with the connector that goes into the computer.
