Question
QUESTION: my 1990 prelude won't crank --battery is good (all other ele items in car work # she has 200000 miles on her -I have pulled out the safety switch #  clutch pedal defeat switch#--  and seems to be working #I get 0 ohms across inside pin and one outside pin when engaged ( clutch pedal would not be depressed at this reading)is this how this switch works ?- closed circuit when the pedal is depressed (clutch pedal pushed in for starting #
she has worked fine for all these years #sometimes hard to start on hot days -I know that is normally the main relay but have not changed or fixed that yet as this time she won't turn over  I only hear 1 very faint click --thanks for your time

ANSWER: You need to have the battery "load tested". It doesn't matter if everything else in the car works. This does not mean that your battery is good. It simply means that it has enough in it to power the small things. The starter takes the most power of anything so if your battery is marginal, then it won't power the starter.
Any good parts store can test your battery for free.

Let me know what you find.

QUESTION: battery is good - I have multiple cars and the same battery works fine in another car as well as a new battery (from another car ) gives the same result in the prelude --- although I can not test battery under load in the prelude I can test volts (12-13 volts ) the problem is not the battery ---also have a charger with an activate setting ( jump start setting )which also gives the same result in the prelude

Answer
Hmmm...ok. (If it were me I'd still do the load test to be sure, but what you have done is probably good enough to rule out the battery). The next thing you need to do is clean and tighten your battery cables. I know that it sounds too simple and easy but you would be surprised how many people forget this step.
After that I would start checking the starter. You can just take it out and have it tested or check for voltage at the starter when you are trying to crank it.
