Honda Repair: help, antifreeze coolant, honda civic

Question
to start off i have a honda civic lx 1999. problem: theres rust coming from the inside of the radiator , and there was no water or any coolant in the radiator. i think there might be a leak starting up from somewhere or its evaporating the antifreeze/ water fast. what steps can i take to diagnose this properly?

Answer
If your coolant was that low then yes, you do have a leak. If there is rust in the radiator then your car must have just had plain water in it with no coolant (antifreeze). Coolant has anti corrosion properties.
You need to fill your radiator back up with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water (distilled) then start the engine and watch for a leak. You might need to take your car for a drive and get the engine hot in order to tell where it is leaking from.
If you still don't see a leak you need to have your system leak tested. You can have a shop do this or you can buy a leak tester to do it yourself.
