Honda Repair: dead cylinders, blown head gasket, cylinder bores

Question
I have a 1990 honda prelude i have lost compression. in the #2 and #3
cylinders but its not burning oil and its popping back through the intake i think bad valves but im not sure i need an expert opinion

Answer
Chris, a bad/blown head gasket can cause this exact problem you are experiencing. And i lean more to it as well since you are not burning oil. But, you should see some white smoke which is water/radiator fluid. Valves are probably fine, but, since you are replacing the head gasket have a valve adjustment done as well. Also, when you remove the head turn the crank and inspect your cylinder bores and rings. New timing belt and water pump should be replaced at this time as well.
