Honda Repair: Dash/ Marker Lights 01 CR-V, marker light, electrical issues

Question
I just recently bought this Cr-V for my wife and the car has been a phenomenal buy, But recently a Dash light/ Marker Light issue has cropped up. When you turn the headlight switch on I get and intermittent on/off with the dash lights. Sometimes I can cycle the switch off/on and the lights will come on, sometimes they dont. Last night i realized that my marker lights must be on the same circuit because they also don't work when the dashlights are out. I have seen some references to this issue but no actual answers on the problem. Do I need to replace the stalk switch? check wiring?, replace a relay?. Im not familiar with import vehicles, This being the first Ive owned. All the other Lights work Brakes, Reverse, Turn. Also Ive checked the fuses and all are still intact. Thank you in advance

Answer
Sam, unfortunately that generation Cr-V is plagued with electrical issues specifically in the areas you are describing. Fix? Not easy too determine. Lots of trial and error electrically.

I have responded to about 50 or so of these similar question(s) you are asking. Others have given me some feedback and it is a list of repairs. About 50% of the feedback was the switch itself attached to the steering column. The other 50% was relays, wiring harnesses, various other switches, etc. No real accurate way to pinpoint the issue.

The cause? Moisture. Almost everyone who repaired these areas said that the tech or themselves found; moisture. Within the contacts, around relays, rusty grounds, etc. Good luck and i hope this helps you.
