Question
i am having problems getting the oil pan off the block i have the exhaust unbloted and out of the way but i cant seem to get the oil pan off seems to be catching some where and i think it is becouse of the tranny side please tell me i dont have to remove the tranny  to do it becouse the oil pan sits above the tranny and i cant seem to wiggle it out

Answer
Robert, no problem. There is a transmission/flywheel inspection plate that is holding the pan on. Very easy to remove. Usually 2 10mm bolts and maybe a 12mm bolt too. They are going into the transmission. Use a light due to debris and grime. Drop the plate out of the way and watch out for the pan so it doesn't drop on you.
