Honda Repair: 1988 Acura: rain leak front pass. side, wiring harnesses, cabin water

Question
hello - i have a 1988 Acura Integra, 4 dr Hatch - there is a leak that appeared last year on the front passenger side of the car. it only leaks when i park on a downhill slant in the rain. there is a stream of water that comes out from somewhere under the glove box, and then stops when it stops raining. there is no water actually in the glovebox. if i turn on the fan, it forces water out that has collected somewhere, and then stops coming out after a few moments. if i park flat, there is no leak. i do not have a sunroof or AC. there is no smell to the water, and as i mentioned, it only leaks when it rains. any ideas would be most appreciated! my mechanic could only come up with things like AC, sunroof, heater core - but none of those seem to fit. is there a blocked drain somewhere i can check? i got a chilton's guide, but they do not talk about rainwater drains anywhere.
thank you!

Answer
Amy, can only be 3 things. Firewall, windshield, or wheel well.

Firewall - under the hood, near the passenger side frame rail, there are alot of grommets sealing various wiring harnesses that allow them to pass through the firewall to the interior of the cabin. Quite possibly a few of these could be deteriorated and are allowings some moisture to enter. Or missing altogether. You might have to remove your intake hose, etc. to gain access to even see this part of the engine bay.

Windshield - more than likely your windshield has been replaced at least once in the vehicle's lifetime? Have you paid someone to replace the windshield? Whichever if the seal on the windshield is not 100% in place, has debris in seal, or is just deteriorated this will cause water issues in the area you are describing.

Wheel well - passenger front wheel and tire area, could quite possibly be a hole that enters the cabin. Water could be getting forced in there and pooling. Then parked specifically will overflow into other areas?

Other than that i dont know what else to tell you. Other than getting a hose out and parking like you do and kind of doing some trial and error...
