Toyota Repair: 1996 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder restarts, air control valve, toyota camry

Question
Follow-up:

It acts as though it is "flooded".The engine will attempt to fire but will "cut-off"immediately. I would say that it does want to start...it has always fired after 2-4 attempts. The problem always pops up with restart within 30 min.- 1 hr. after engine has been shut off.Longer waits to restart has not been a problem as fuel seems to evaporate that has leaked thru. The fuel leaking thru is what I believe is happening...no way I know for sure. Thanks again for your help.

Question -
1996 Toyota Camry,4cyl.,automatic,83,000 mi.I have had peroidic problems with the car starting...it appears to be
a fuel injector leaking thru causing problem with fairly quick restarts. A
can of injector cleaner in gas tank has been temporary fix a few times
but problem resurfaces. What will it take to get permanent fix? Cost? Thanks for any help I can get.

Answer -
Can you tell me what the symptoms are?
Does it crank over and not fire up?
If so how long does it take for it to finally fire up?
Does it wan't to start but idle so low that it will stall?

Answer
Camrys have had many problems with the idle air control valve, it seems that this may be the case here, the valve will stick causing the engine to run to rich or lean at startups, the valve is located on the throttle body, it has to be removed to get access to the iac valve, the iac valve can be cleaned to solve this problem.
