Honda Repair: 06 Civic Fuel Latch Problem, wd 40, release cable

  I have a '06 Civic with a gas lid latch problem (pressing the lid release lever, and hearing the click, the gas lid does not pop open).  After researching, it seems the '00-'05 Civics have a similar problem.  
  Would the fix for my '06 be the same, or is there-- hopefully-- an easier fix available?

Brad, from people i have personally talked too and consulted with it seems to be an on-going issue even into your generation civic. Fix is similar but just replacing the release cable isn't the fix. I would try and put a lubricant in the actual shaft that the release holder slides into. You can try WD-40 but you need something that will last 6 months. This way you only have to maintain this twice a year or so. I have heard vaseline, lotions, soap, even butter works. Kinda up to you on how you want to deal with it.
