Honda Repair: Speedometer, vehicle speed sensor, speedometer cable

My speedometer has stop working as well as the cruise control, any ideas why?

John, your cruise control will not work as long as the car is not registering speed. Not sure what Year, Make and Model you have with the correct engine size the sending unit that registers your speed is located on top of the transmission. It is called a (VSS) or vehicle speed sensor. Either this simply came unplugged and can be cleaned appropriately snapping back into place. Or the unit has failed and needs to be replaced. Your speedometer cable could have broke too. But, these are only on earlier-1991. The problem is more than likely one of these areas. But, since you did not provide me with more specific information i can only be vague and not precise.
