Honda Repair: antenna, replacement antenna, dash area

Question
travis, i recently had our antenna broken off our odyssey. its still half there but i need to know how to replace it. also where is a good place to buy the replacement antenna

thanks

Answer
Joe, considering you did not include a year for your Odyssey I can only be general with my response. Whichever I believe the antenna comes out of the drivers side area of the roof? And angles back right? And this is a manual antenna too i believe. Whichever it resides within the pillar that is between the windshield and door. There is not alot of room in there so the more access you can create the better. Remove the plastics from the bottom part of the dash, from the A pillar plastic, anything and everything. Stereo needs to be removed. All plastics around the stereo area/center console area. Find the antenna where it plugs into the back of the stereo and start removing it pulling towards the driver side area. Once you have the slack pulled out of the lines from under the dash, remove a couple of screws holding the base to the roof, where the antenna protrudes from outside the vehicle. (Might be a plastic covering/trim piece.) Then slide it out gently, pulling upwards. Have a friend help you with guiding the rest of the wiring from the driver side lower dash area.

Where i would shop for one of these? Honda recycler. If they do not have this for you they can order it. Or there are plenty of these located throughout the country. Shop for it. Who knows might be one on Ebay. Here is one near where i live... www.autoadventure.net  Shipping for that part should not be too ridiculous and i trust this company.
