Honda Repair: 1996 Honda Accord Creaking, cv axle, honda accord

Question
Travis--A few weeks ago, I began to hear my Accord "creaking" or "clicking" in the area of the front wheels as I made a left turn and accelerated. Now I am hearing the same sound as I make right turns and accelerate. There doesn't seem to be any other problem than the small noise, but the noise itself has me worried that something else might be going wrong. And I hate being stranded. Does this sound like any problem you've heard about a'96 Accord EX (4 cyl. VTEC, automatic, 4-door)?

Answer
Brian, this is common for a boot being torn on the CV-axle and losing all the grease within the joint. You can crank your wheel and jack your car up and visually inspect your boot. Look for excessive grease being thrown around the area and/or obvious tears or damage. Check both side of the vehicle. Both of your boots could be torn but, hopefully just one of them is. Even with the noise being made this will not leave you stranded so don't worry about that part.
