Honda Repair: 94 Honda Accord wont start sometimes, electrical failure, battery cables

Question
Hi!
I have 94 Honda Accord LX manual. Recently, it won't start unless I jump start of push start. I have tested my battery and its new and working, tested alternator and is working fine as well as the starter.

There are times when it won't start but an hour or so later it would start without any jump start of push start.

It has always started with Jump start. I checked the battery terminal and both ends are tight and clean. I found negative cable was exposed towards the other end of the battery which I sealed it. I have checked battery using multimeter when car won't start. The voltage were around 12.5 or so. It seemed like battery was fully charged.

Any help to track this problem down will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Dave, unfortunately there is no exact answer for you. It does sound like this is a electrical failure of some sort. This could be coming from the ignition switch. Older Accords get started into the  100's of thousands. And if the ignition has never been replaced this could be the failure. I would also inspect physically the (-) and (+) battery cables for damage or corrosion. The starter lead wire too. 12.5 volts is perfect for your battery. Do you currently have an alarm installed? Look under the dash on the drivers side and see if there is a black box and a bunch of wires. If so these can fail too. The issue is somewhere between the steering column to the battery and i would say it was the wiring connected between these components.
