Car Stereos: car stereo, aftermarket radio, volkswagen golf

i have a 1999 Volkswagen golf. i have connected the power lead to the amp but when it is connected to the battery all the power to the electrics go, for example the remote central locking. how do i connect the amp to the battery without disabling the remote central locking?

hey man i kinda need a little more info on this one hmmm can you be a little more specific on what you did and what brands and models are you using. thanks.

these questiong might help you. but i still need that info. to kinda narrow down the posibilities.

Ok now do you have an aftermarket radio?.
Where did you get the ground from?.
Where did you get the remote wire from?.
Did you fuse the power wire?.
Did you make sure no wires are shorting out?.
Does your sound system work after you connect the power wire to your amp?.
Did you make sure that you are getting a good conection to the battery terminals after you connect the power wire?.
