Honda Repair: oil, positive crankcase ventilation system, positive crankcase ventilation

Question
hello,i just recently bought a 95 honda accord.thing is the engine was swapped out to a v-tec.well i test drove the car and checked before and after the drive and honestly the car drove great.clutch was smooth and everything.only thing was the brakes thats minor.next day i pick up the car.when i got to the gas station i noticed alot of oil on the engine and under the hood.when i got home i was down about 2 quarts of oil and it was all over the engine and under the hood.a buddy of mine said there was a hose missing that goes to the air filter (which is aftermarket)and that he's pretty sure that oil would come out of that spout when you drive the car.could this be the problem and how and what do i need to fix this

Answer
Michael, could be as simple as a hose but, doubtful. 2 quarts is a lot to loose in a short period of time. That tube that is missing i am assuming is on the top left of the valve cover area? If so some people just cap it with a miniature air filter. Allowing it to breathe. This is part of your PCV - positive crankcase ventilation system. It tells the throttle body the temperature of your engine so it can add choke when it is cold or reduce when properly warmed up. Look very closely at the motor for other areas of excessive oil and or damage. Look at the bottom side of the motor too. Is it a DOHC VTEC or a SOHC VTEC?
