Honda Repair: Overheating issues, jdm b18c, upper radiator hose

Question
Hello i have a 1999 civic mb6 b18C4 engine and am having issues with overheating, ive done a pressure test and no leaks were obvious, upon the engine temp rising the fan is not coming on however if i hook it up to the battery with bell wire it comes on straight away, someone suggested the fan switch may be at fault however im having trouble locating it,
any help would be much appreciated..

thanks Luke

Answer
Luke, bleed the cooling system at the proper port. Should be a 12mm bolt with a weep hole. Location - near the thermostat housing/inlet pipe, upper radiator hose. Ensuring all air bubbles have been eliminated. If the car is still overheating replace the temperature sending unit. It is located in the same area and/or check to see if it simply came unplugged. Very common issue is the air bubbles not being properly bled from the coolant system. You throwing any check engine codes? Did that motor come stock in the civic? B18c1 and B18c5 are US and I've seen a JDM B18c. B18c4 must be the EDM version.
