Honda Repair: b16a civic revs then dies, obd 1, turbo system

HI we have a 1995 b16a civic si turbo with hondata system. The problem we have is when you rev the engine the revs rise then die if you have your foot all the way down it will rise quickly to 4000 then die. the revs cannot be held even at 2000 revs, it still dies any ideas? thanks  John

John, disconnect the hondata. Install a OBD-1 P72 or P28 ECU. Evaluate the check engine codes it is signalling. Difficult question to answer due to the turbo system and the Hondata combination. This may or may not help. Hondata website should have some tech. info. available for troubleshooting as well. If i had to guess, with as little information that you are giving me, it would be the ignition system or the fuel delivery that is causing the failure. Hope this helps... Feel free to reply if you can give me specific details of the turbo, stage of hondata, intercooler, ignition system, etc. (be as specific as possible...) TY and GL
