Honda Repair: 1989 honda accord lxi, crank pulley, honda accord

Question
My Honda doesn't want to crank. My friends and I had set the timing and it ran for a day. On my way to work it felt like it lost power and eventually died on me. When we towed it back, we tried to crank it but all it did was turn over. One of my friends suggested we timed it wrong. Could that be it.

Answer
Rene, it is very possible that the timing is wrong. Or, the belt tensioner pulley came loose and allowed slack and lost the timing that way. Whichever happened you need to reset the timing again. Remember there are 2 marks on the crank pulley, TDC (white mark) and a red mark. The red mark is where it needs to be set. Inspect the belt too because if it isn't brand new it might have stretched out too.
