my heater/defrost does not blow any air at all.  it went gradually down hill this week and now is dead.

Michael, replace your blower motor. Check all fuses with a test light prior to removal. Location for the fuses is under the dash driver side. The blower motor is located under the dash behind the glove box. Remove the glove box. Which will give you access to the blower motor. Go to the junk yard and pull one out yourself or purchase the unit. Also the dash board switch for the 1,2,3, and 4 levels could be bad but doubtful.
