Honda Repair: 1995 HONDA ACCORD RPMS GOING HIGH AND LOW, coolant system, liter v6

Question
I have a 1995 honda accord with a 2.7 liter v6 that has a idle problem the engine after reaching normal operating temp. will idle up and start surging up and down between 1000 and 2000 rpms my live data on my scan tool shows closed loop drive as the fuel system status all other data looks normal

Answer
Jarred, about 75% of the time this happens when there is trapped air within the coolant system. Simply bleed the system. There should be a pep cock (12mm) bolt with an eye hole. Should be near the thermostat housing. Break it loose for 1 to 1 1/2 full turn while the engine is running. You should see bubbles protruding from the hole. When there is a steady stream of fluid cap it tight and drive it. Keep repeating this until no more bubbles are in the system. Of course add fluids to the overflow bottle as necessary.
