Honda Repair: 91 Honda Accord, speedometer cable, time donna

Question
"S" light flashes, then eventually "check engine" comes on and speedometer is erratic(90%).  My codes are 4 and 15.  I don't have a clue about 15 other than it sounds like something to do with the transmission and the other just sounds like I need to replace the speedometer cable. Please tell me where I need to start. I'm doing this myself and need all the help I can get! Thanks for your time...

Answer
Donna, tough question to answer and you have a lot of variables working against you. But, to be on the bright side start by repairing the Check Engine Codes, first. Then the codes should go away or limit themselves to just one code or even bring up more codes! LOL. I have dealt with this issue before and found that by being patient and communicating with the Honda dealer (code 15), i.e. internet website, or other trusted sources, you should be able to repair by yourself. The "S" light is the sports function for the Transmission? Correct? If so, it could be the button itself, sticking, dirty, old or worn out. Remove and replace it. Not 100% but the Accords have a Transmission module that monitors the AT. This might need to be replaced as well.
