Honda Repair: No power steering on 87 prelude, yard car, exact car

Question
Just bought an 87 prelude, in which the Power Steering wasn't working.  Saw that there was no belt on pump.  Wife took car to mechanic who said he needed to replace an arm and it would cost around $800. Can you give me an idea of what arm he may be refering to, and if it is somewhat easy to change?  I'm tempted to just put on the belt and see what happens?  Thanks in advance.

Answer
James, the PS unit is mounted to the engines cylinder head. There should be an upper and/or lower mounting bracket. This is the arm i am sure he is referring too. Going to a junk yard and finding the exact car you should be able to tell what is missing just by knowing what yours looks like and comparing it to the junk yard car. Also you can purchase a Chilton's manual and this will probably have a close-up picture of the PS area too. $800 is RIDICULOUS! for this little of an area of repair. Even if the pump was replaced brand new, belt, arms, and labor should never come up to that amount. I would not trust that mechanic but just my opinion.
