Honda Repair: oil leak in a 95 honda civic, honda civic dx, valve cover gasket

Question
i have a 95 honda civic dx and it has 171k miles on it and im about to do a swap on it but i have an oil leak and i was wanting to know where the most common place for this kinda problem comes from and what am i looking at as far as cost for repairs and such

Answer
The most common oil leaks on this engine is either the camshaft oil seal, the valve cover gasket or the distributor O ring. If you do a swap, you should replace the t-belt, water pump, valve cover gasket & oil seals anyway so you don't have a new leak after you do your swap. The cost of repairs depends on if you are doing it yourself or not. You should plan on spending about $300.00 in parts to go on your swap. If you pay someone to do it for you, expect to pay around 12 hours of labor
