Honda Repair: 89 Honda civic Lx, honda civic lx, fuel system components

When I try to turn on my car it will start,but it doesn't stay on. I was thinking it might be the fuel filter or a short somewhere. I know its not the battery because thats what makes the car start, but not to keep it on right? What is it? I need help

Lindsay, this sounds like a fuel related issue to me as well. The fuel system components are fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors, and ECU. Start by replacing the fuel filter. Then have the fuel pump diagnosed. Then the injectors and ECU. I would also recommend doing a full tune-up too. Distributor cap and rotor, Spark plugs and wires.
