Honda Repair: 91 Accord, k n air filter, vacuum lines

Question
QUESTION: I have just noticed a sucking sound from the engine when I turn it off. It's a 91 Accord LX with 278k on it. It runs very well. Not recent problems. I baby the thing. I changed the air filter when I noticed it. Nothing. Can't seem to find a vac leak. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: Hi Mark, something is loose and or disconnected under the hood. Or had you installed the air filter first? Then the problem occurred? If so, was it a K & N air filter? If not return the filter for a K & N and tell me if this problem still occurs. Let me know if this helps...

Mark, you might want to consider replacing the Throttle Body sometime soon. Inspect all hoses/vacuum lines going in or around the Throttle body area. Even the tiniest crack can cause this issue as well. Replace all damaged hoses. There is a gasket between the Throttle body and Intake itself that could be leaking/sucking air as well. This is cheap and is easy to do yourself. Let me know if this helps...
