Honda Repair: 2000 odyssey thumping from front end, brake caliper, sway bar

Question
My Odyssey makes a thumping sound when I go over bumps.  Dealer says nothing wrong in front end but the noise is enough to make me crazy.  Van has 75,000 miles on it and I just got new tires at 70k.  Any suggestions?

Answer
I would check for faulty struts first. Look for oil leaking out of the dust cover. Another thing could be bad sway bar links. An easy check for that is disconnect one of the links from the sway bar and go drive it and see if the noise is gone. Also Odyssey's sometimes have a weird issue with the brake caliper pins making some noise. They would have to be replaced to take care of the problem. And lastly check the brake pads themselves. Some after market pads can bounce up and down ever so slightly in the caliper bracket and make some racket. Hope this helps.
