Honda Repair: honda hesitates, accleration, honda accord

Question
my 1994 honda accord hesitates upon accleration. there is on pattern to when it happens. sometimes in the mornig sometimes when it has sat during the day. sometimes when it has sat for only a couple hours. i've checked the fuel pressure and the egr valve is not stuck. the intake is not stopped up. the fuel injectors are operating. i can hear them clicking. when i removed them the tips are clean and fuel is flosing. there is no check engine light on so i figure the sensors are good as well . what could be wrong?

Answer
Hi Lorenzo, when was the last time you did a tune-up? I would start there. Replacing the spark plugs, distributor cap, distributor rotor, plug wires, and fuel filter. If that does not solve the problem, check the timing. When was the last time you had the timing belt replaced? If your Honda is in excess of 120k miles i would definitely be inspecting the timing belt, belt tensioner pulley, cam seals, and water pump. Another check you can do to the fuel injectors is an ohms resistance check to make sure they are operating in the required specifications. (Sometimes visual inspection is just not enough...) You also did a good job with testing other common sensors as well. I hope this helps you with your repair.
