Question
Hi, I don't really know much about cars , and i am currently driving my sister's. Recently i have noticed that it takes it longer and longer to change gears (eventhough it' automatic) i don't know the temrs to explain it so i'll just try to be as descriptive. It revs up, it takes it a loong time to get up to 40 and then it "just" changes the gear so i can go to 60 k.. It sounds like i am reving it up, and also tonight it overheated. I want to take it to mechanocs tomorrow, but i don't exactly know how to explain what's wrong with it. It wasn't like this a month ago. My sister will kill me when she comes back from Europe. I need to fix it as soon as possible. Thanx for your help :)

Totally ignorant :)

Answer
Well it sounds like the transmisson is having some issues I would check the fluid it self to see if may just be low. Now if you are not sure what to look for on honda's the transmisson dipstick is located on the front of the transmisson it is usualy red or ornge in color make sure that the car is at opperating tempature and on level ground remove the dipstick and clean it off then reinsert it and remove once more to check this should give you a accurate reading then you can tell if maybe it needs a qt or more or less. Use honda spasific trans fluid you can find it at most parts stores. If this does not fix the issue than you have further transmisson issues then you would need to take it to a shop.
