Honda Repair: my srs and sensor oxygen, fuel injection cleaner, oxygen sensor

Question
do i realy need to change my oxygen sensor...and my srs is lightin on the dash after i removed the seats to vaccum the car...is anything that i could do b4 i bring it to the dealer

Answer
The reason the srs light is on is beacuse the seats were disconected with the battery still conected there is a wieght sensor in the passenger seat for the air bag on the passenger side. The sensor is there so that if a person such as a infant of less than 20 pounds is siting in that seat the sensor will not activate the air bag in turn that could casue a fatal injury I would check your conections under the seats and disconect the battery if this does not work then take it to the dealer they can clear the code for you.

About your oxygen sensor well some manufactors recomend replacement at a certain mileage interval and then the sensor over time will get burned and not read properly so it will tell the cars computer to run rich or lean with the fuel thus casueing poor performance and fuel economy. One thing you could try is go to your local parts store and get some good fuel injection cleaner and put a few gallons of the 97 octane in and just run you car good for a few miles this can clean the sensors and the rest of your fuel system basicly helping you out alittle.
